Celebrate the Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) as part of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as it travels through Brisbane.

The QBR is a Commonwealth Games tradition that celebrates the Commonwealth’s diversity, inspires community pride and excites people about the world-class festival of sports and culture to come.

Residents will have a chance to see the baton and engage with batonbearers as they move through the city and stop in selected Brisbane streets, and celebrate together.

The Milton community celebration event will be hosted by Megan Bartholemew and will feature live music by The Steele Syndicate. Enjoy roving entertainers, circus performances and workshops, inflatable squash courts, giant games, tasty treats from a range of food trucks and more. Be part of the excitement when the batonbearer James Slipper arrives on site with the Queen’s Baton at 3.22pm.

Roads will be closed in the area around the community celebration event from 2-4pm, so get there early to see the Baton arrive. NOTE – the event program may be subject to change.

For more details about local traffic impacts or the relay route, see Council’s QBR interactive map.
