Matilda had had so much fun watching a soap box derby at a scout camp at Mount Cotton, so when an opportunity to visit a really big one, she hopped in the car and headed out out to Churchill Ipswich to see Moreton Region’s 48th Annual Soap Box Derby.  Matilda met lots of leaders, rovers, venturer, committee members, and parents who were all helping to run the event.  As Matilda watched, she saw youth members from the various sections hopping into race carts and zooming down the hill at top speed.  There was a First Aid team on hand to attend to injuries and members of the local BP Guild to help retrieve the youth members and their carts, and get them out of the way in time for the next race.
