Cuboree 2023

Have you heard about Cuboree?  If you have, that’s awesome and we hope you will be joining us next year for this amazing Cub Scout Event.

Here is the inside scoop on everything Cuboree for those who are unfamiliar with it or who may have heard a little about it but are still unsure. Unquestionably, Cuboree is the largest and most exciting camp that Cub Scouts can attend during their time in in the Cub Scout section. Like AJ for Scouts and AV for Venturer Scouts, Cuboree is the major Event for Queensland Cub Scouts. This spectacular 6-day, 5-night extravaganza is held every two years and brings together Cubs from across Queensland.

Every Cuboree has a different theme, including Cuboree ’23.  Next year’s theme is ‘Choose Your Adventure’! Adventure may take many different forms, and Cuboree ’23 will offer a variety of opportunities to engage the senses, challenge yourself, and try something new.  And the best part is being able to do that with your Cub Scout friends from your own group as well as with others from parts of Queensland that you may not have heard of.  An opportunity for everyone attending to create new, lifelong friendships.

When is Cuboree ‘23?

So, what happens at Cuboree?
During Cuboree, Cub Scouts between the ages of 9 and 11 from all over Queensland, and possibly from other States too, come together to camp for 5 nights and 6 days. While there, they will meet new friends and take part in fantastic activities both at the Maryborough Showgrounds and at off-site locations. Cuboree ’23 will be offering two Off Site Major Activities this time around as opposed to only one in previous years.

The Cuboree Team are excited to inform you that our main off-site activity during Cuboree ’23 will be led by Scouts Queensland – Air Activities! A breathtaking flight over gorgeous Hervey Bay, which provides a bird’s eye view of the Fraser Coast locale, will amaze Cubs. What do you think you might see while flying?

The second off-site activity day will be kept under wraps until Cuboree, but what we can say is you will be able to Choose Your Adventure, so if you are ready for adventure and want to know what this could be, you will need to get your application in and come to Cuboree ’23 to find out.

Cuboree is not just for Cub Scouts though, there are opportunities for Scouts, Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts to come along where experienced youth and adults will mentor them to assist with the organisation and development of an Activity Base.  With an environment and sustainability focus, older youth members may choose to be part of the Sustainability Youth Council.  For Scouts to be eligible to attend, they must have turned thirteen before the start of Cuboree ’23.

There are so many ways to get information about Cuboree and stay up to date and engage with us.  So if you want to know more about Cuboree ’23, please:

The Cuboree ’23 Team welcomes you to be part of this event next year where you can Choose your Adventure!
