International Women’s Day

This week was International Women’s Day (8 March) it is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.

To celebrate International Woman’s Day this year the Diversity and Inclusion Advocates Team has interviewed 8 women in Queensland Scouting. These leaders are breaking barriers and inspiring others with their resilience, courage, and determination. They are an example of what we can do when we put our minds to it, no matter what gender we identify as. Check out the interviews below!
