Over half of all Australians don’t have a valid Will. Having a valid Will enables you to take care of your family and loved ones and make a difference to an organisation like Scouts.

A gift in your Will, no matter how small or large, is a lasting gift to young people and can help the scouting movement in the following ways:

– Help continue the development of our youth members.

– Improve training to our leaders to assist with educating our young people.

– Help to run major Scouting events in Queensland communities.

– Continue to improve our campsites and other facilities.

Types of Bequest

Specific Bequest

A Specific Bequest applies to an amount which may be left for a specific purpose or to a specific group, district or region. A specific bequest could also be a specific item or items of value including jewellery, artwork, property, shares or any other asset. It would be helpful to allow your bequest to be redirected to a district or region in the area should the beneficiary group cease to operate.

Residual Bequest

A residual bequest is a gift of the residue of your estate, or a percentage thereof, after all your other gifts, taxes and debts have been paid. This type of bequest maintains its relative value and automatically adjusts as the value of your estate increases. By dividing your estate into percentages you can be confident that the gift received will retain its value when your bequest matures.

To Bequest money or items to Scouting in Queensland, please specify the beneficiary as ‘The Scout Association of Australia Queensland Branch Inc.’
