Outdoors Queensland Awards:

Scouts QLD Finalists

Scouts Queensland’s Scouting @ Home program offering during the pandemic has been selected as a finalist in the The Brisbane City Council Award for Outstanding Achievement (Organisation) for the Outdoors Queensland Awards 2021.

Our Scouting @ Home program engaged with some 25,000 young people and their families at the height of the pandemic when many other community groups were closing.  Young people were encouraged to select programs based on their interests, supported by resources that emphasise being adventurous, safe, challenging and inclusive and operating within the changing Government requirements need in the pandemic. Over 400 programs were developed including scores of videos and supported by weekly resource sheets helped young people stay active and engaged with their friends.

We would also like to offer our congratulations to Venturer Scout Lachlan Wright, nominated for the K2 Basecamp Young Achiever Award. This award recognizes the efforts and achievement of an individual new to the outdoor sector; a student, young person or other, making a change in the field.

We are honoured to again be a finalist in the Outdoors Queensland Awards. The Awards ceremony can be viewed live here on Facebook commencing at 5:30pm Friday, 29 October.
