There’s only two weeks until Clean Up Australia Day 2017 on Sunday 5th March – has your Group signed up yet?
Join Scouts, community members and businesses across the country as we clean up our local parks, waterways, beaches and bushlands. All Scout Groups are strongly encouraged to sign up their site under the ‘youth’ category. Make this the year Scouts have the most clean up sites and participants! Visit the Clean Up Australia Day website to sign up your local clean up site, or to join an existing one.
This is a great way for youth members to participate in some community service in the outdoors, enjoying and protecting our natural areas. As a bonus, you can earn hours towards your Landcare Australia badge (all sections), as well as environment or service hours in your award scheme.
All participants are eligible to purchase a Clean Up Australia Day blanket badge from the Scoutshop. This badge was designed by Kaaviyan, a Scout from 1st Narre Warren North in Victoria.
