Badge History

Joanna Ford, Cub Scout Leader for Scoutreach shared her experiences meeting Cub Scouts and Leaders and teaching them more about the history of their badges.

Over the last 12 months I have put together a collection of scouting items that is mainly focused on Cub Scouts and Queensland. I have run one group night at Calliope and an afternoon of games and activities for the Greenbank Group camp. Both have gone amazingly well and have been well liked and supported by youth members and Leaders. I am hoping that this is something I can take to other Scout Groups around the state specifically for groups that find it hard to get to the amazing, updated Heritage Centre at Baden-Powell Park, Samford. If you want more information on Queensland District badge history have a look at the Scouts Queensland website.
