Leadership Through Adventure Fund

Over 100 youth members from Queensland have been appointed recently, as Ambassadors of the Dick and Pip Smith Leadership Through Adventure Fund (LTAF).

All have been recipients of the LTAF and have received financial support to make their adventurous journeys even more adventurous.

Thirteen patrols from across Queensland have received funds to support training and adventurous activities.

Indooroopilly Rover Scouts Road Trip

12 brave Indooroopilly Rover Scouts (and one extra brave Bus Driver/Guide Extraordinaire) road-tripped their way down south. On their trip they spent 4 days shredding it in the snow at Thredbo, where countless hot chocolates were consumed. For many Rover Scouts it was their first time skiing or snowboarding (but not their last).

Their second stop was at the Blue Mountains, where weather tried (and failed) to ruin their amazing abseiling plans.

And last (but certainly not least), the Rover Scouts camped, hiked and star gazed in Warrumbungle National Park.

An awesome time was had by all and Indooroopilly Rovers would like to thank the Dick and Pip Smith Leadership through Adventure Fund for allowing us to undertake this awesome trip!

Caloundra Venturer Scouts – Bay of Fires

Caloundra Venturer Scouts travelled to Tasmania and hiked the Bay of Fires. Congratulations to Will, who received The Leadership Through Adventure Fund (LTAF) certificate from Scouts Queensland Chief Commissioner, Geoff Doo, and Chair of LTAF, Peter Blatch AM.
The LTAF certificate recognizes the competencies Will demonstrated in completing his adventure and the additional skills he gained through the experience.

You can watch a recap of the adventure here!

They visited Alice Springs Scouts before departing for the trail.

Kenmore Venturer Scouts

Kenmore Venturer Scouts recently returned from climbing Mt Ringa, snorkelling and meeting Pramuka scouts in Indonesia.

LTAF provides assistance to support youth members to develop leadership skills, by participating in an adventurous journey or being trained to take part in these exciting activities.
