What we’ve been up to!

Belmont Scout Group Family Camp – A weekend of Fun and Adventure!

Recently, Belmont families came together at Allawah Scout Campsite for our annual Group Family Camp. It was a weekend packed with action, fun and bonding as families immersed themselves in a variety of outdoor adventures.

The weekend kicked off with canoeing along the Brisbane River, where families cooled off with a paddle in the shallows. Back at camp, the group gathered around a campfire to make and enjoy damper, slathered in butter and honey, leaving everyone with sticky hands and smiling faces.

Fishing along the riverbank proved eventful, with plenty of fish caught and released. Later, around the campfire, stories of “the one that got away” filled the air as families shared songs, skits, and charades, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

Following a heartfelt Scout’s Own, the fun continued with the construction of a giant waterslide! The campsite echoed with laughter as campers zoomed down the slide, cheered on by their teammates. Nearby, a giant game of water battleships unfolded, where every camper joined in on the soaking fun—no one left dry by the end of the game!

The weekend’s excitement continued with the launching of bottle rockets. Families worked together to build and launch rockets, with some soaring into the nearby trees, adding even more fun to the day.

Though the weekend came to a close all too soon, everyone left a little tired, a little damp, and with plenty of stories to share from the Belmont Scout Group Family Camp!

Moore Park Beach Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts from Moore Park Beach Scout Group visited Bolton Clarke Fairways Aged Care facility on the 26 October.

Whilst there our Cub Scouts performed some songs and skits which the residents really enjoyed.

This even brought back some memories for some residents from when they were in Scouts/ Girl Guides/ Boy Scouts.
