What we’ve been up to!
Triple Grey Wolf Celebration
On Wednesday, 5 February 2025, the Grovely Mitchelton Group had a special Award Ceremony at their Den on Blaker Road Keperra to celebrate a fantastic achievement: three Grey Wolf awards!
Oliver H, Oliver W, and Elliott B are good friends from school and Cub Scouts. They have worked together as a team to earn their peak awards, helping and encouraging one another all the way.
To earn their awards, they had to complete six special interest award and a stage 3 in camping, bushcraft, and hiking. They also had to plan two exciting Adventurous Journeys. Since the rules state they could not plan just one trip together, Oliver W went off on his own and planned journey along the Lanita Rail Trail, starting from Ferny Grove and going to John Scott Park in Samford for lunch before coming back. Meanwhile, the other two Cub Scouts planned a challenging bushwalk in the Samford Conservation Park.
On the night of the award presentation, they were surrounded by family, friends, fellow scouts and local leaders, including the local councillor, Andrew Wines, and the Chief Commissioner. Everyone came together to celebrate their amazing success with a ceremony and, of course, enjoyed the traditional peak award cake!
This was Grovely Mitchelton’s first Grey Wolf award since 2022. Well, done, Oliver H , Oliver W, and Elliott!
