These photos were taken at Rowallan Park, Mackay recently and show the candidates on an environment course exploring the wildlife at the dam and also the Banksia Venturer Scouts who were our wonderful catering team. Thank you everyone. The course was a very productive one and these Leaders are keen to do more activities within their Region. Will your Region be next to have such a course? Talk to the environment team soon about plans for 2016.
There are some significant dates in September to note in your programming. So check the calendar on the website. The interest in the Weedbust camp has shot up with the advertised one now booked out another created. If your Group has missed out you could do some weedbusting service in your own area especially if you can access advice from our local bushcare group.
One piece of news – I have finished my term as Branch Commissioner Environment Education this August and you will shortly be meeting my successor – Jarrad McDonald.
