VENTURER Scout Environment day got underway at the Darling Downs Region Scouts Wirraglen Training Centre and Campsite, Highfields, on Sunday the 29th May 2016.

A group of Venturer Scouts, from across the Region, were on site to remove privet regrowth following work done by the Green Army team last year.

The Venturer Scouts took the opportunity to thank Member for Toowoomba North Trevor Watts for his ongoing support, particularly in achieving the Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant to acquire a John Deere tractor, slasher, bucket and trailer.

Region Scout Commissioner Michael Brown said the equipment enabled the ongoing improvement of the environment at both Wirraglen, which has Klein Creek running through it, and the Scouts Cumorah Campsite at Upper Lockyer, alongside Murphy’s Creek.
